Happy Valentine's Day

Thought it would be fun to share the cards Charlotte gave to her friends (and some luck family members) this year. FYI - they are a little fuzzy if you enlarge (click twice) because I had to scan them into the computer.

We printed (you all know my terrible handwriting) each child’s name and added a red heart sticker, ribbon bow and a heart lollipop – Charlotte’s favorite – to complete the Valentine treat!

Anyway these photos were taken by my friend Hollie of Solei Photography and meant to be Charlotte’s two year old pictures. It just so happened that I really wanted to have Charlotte photographed in this gorgeous dress Aunt Sancha wisely convinced me to buy for her. And poof – they look like they were mean to be Valentine’s pictures. I have included a little slide show of some of the pictures Hollie took of Charlotte.

Our whole family had a great Valentine’s Day! Wayne brought BOTH Charlotte and I cards and flowers which was a real treat. Charlotte loved her mini purple tulips and kept asking to hold them. I wanted her to smell them but I think she thought I was trying to put flowers up her nose!!! She really gave us some funny reactions and faces with that. Wayne gave me two vases of flowers including my favorites, Gerbera Daisies. They are beautiful and with two arrangements I can enjoy pretty flowers all over the house. Charlotte and I bought Wayne cards and a Halo DVD collection that he has been looking forward to. Wayne and were also able to go out for dinner last night (thanks for staying with Charlotte Mom!) for a nice dinner at a local restaurant, Tuscany, we have been meaning to try for three years! It was fun, casual and yummy!

Ps – Later this afternoon my Dad was over for the kid’s joint birthday party and brought Charlotte and I Valentine’s flowers too! They are beautiful (Charlotte even got a small heart balloon – big hit) and I love that my Dad has included Charlotte in his tradition of gifting “his girls” with Valentine flowers. It’s always been very special to me that every year I received flowers from my Dad. Thanks Dad!

A little info about Mr. & Mrs. Chambers

I saw this on another blog and thought it was pretty cool so I snagged it.

A little info about Wayne and I, Happy Valentine’s Day

Questions about Mr. & Mrs. Chambers:

What are your middle names? Bianca Brennan and Patrick

How long have you been together? We've been together for almost 11 years this coming June but known each other for a few more than that we have been married for four.

How long did you know each other before you started dating? A few years actually. We sometimes hung out in a group that revolved around my brother, Cameron, and some other common friends.

Who asked who out? We were just friends out with the gang and one night I let him drive me home!

How old are each of you? I am 32 and Wayne is ALMOT 30.

Whose siblings do/ did you see the most? I guess mine but we’d really like to see all of them more.

Did you go to the same school? Yep, we both graduated from BHS but I was the class of 96 and he was the class of 98. We didn't know each other – other than in passing - in high school. We also took some (maybe only one? not sure) classes at Valencia – those stories and quotes are epic.

Are you from the same home town? No, I'm from Orlando and he is from Rochester, NY although he grew up mostly in Baton Rouge, LA.

Who is smarter? Wayne – he can spell and stuff… oh yah, he also uses the correct numbers when asked instead of grotesquely inflating them, like I do.

Who is more sensitive? Easy, me!

Where do you eat out most as a couple? Tijuana Flats, is sort of an obsession. We’d also like to go to Stefano’s, Outback and Del Friscoi’s more than we get to…

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Not sure which is technically further Scotland or Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Scotland seemed like a longer flight, maybe it was all that water...

Who has the worse temper? Me

Who does the cooking? Usually me, but Wayne is in charge of the grill and makes mean pork chops.

Who is more social? Me, Wayne is quiet and reserved…most of the time.

Who is the neat-freak? Way easy ME, but Wayne is mostly neat it’s LIFE that’s messy!

Who is more stubborn? Me

Do you have any children together? Charlotte, ALMOST 2

What about pets? We have two male cats Loki and Kerian & two female Flat Coat Retrievers Vallyn and Ramie

Who hogs the bed? We’d each say the other person. I will say buying a bed while Wayne was working overnights was NOT the best idea. At the time a queen sounded fine – now we’d both like to have gotten a king size – especially with a toddler who likes to climb in and sleep sideways.

Who wakes up earlier? Whoever is on “Charlotte Duty”. We try to sleep in as much as we can and will bribe and/or guilt the other one into getting up first.

Who has the bigger family? Wayne, but not by much….

Who does/ did the laundry? My Mom - we also avoid doing the laundry until it is absolutely necessary.

Who’s better with the computer? Wayne. But I am not so bad...I have a blog, right?

Daddy's Little Girl

In case you were wondering what was so special about this photo/moment {like I was}...
Well, Charlotte is wearing Wayne’s Zelda beanie and trying to play his Xbox! Add the gangster face and Wayne was SO proud!

Shoe Gnome

Charlotte loves to put on our shoes and try to walk around the house. It usually involves a lot of wall holding… But tonight we found her secret weapon – her shoes inside ours! Sneaky, sneaky – smart - little Bunny!

Charlotte's Big Girl Bed

Tonight we finally gave in and set Charlotte up in a “BIG GIRL” bed! She has been getting out of her crib off and on since Christmas Eve (22 months) with the frequency increasing more recently – so, against our better judgment we gave in tonight. We were lucky to borrow my sister’s transitional crib, which means it goes from a crib to a toddler bed to a full size – MUCH later on. Thanks Sancha! Charlotte LOVES it and even posed “sleeping” for me. She spent all of her bedtime story time exploring how to get in and out of bed. Here’s hoping she will STAY in bed…we’ll put a baby gate on her door just in case!

I am also including a short (and dark – sorry about that) video of Charlotte playing with her babies in her new bed (also the tail end of Grandma reading Owl Babies). It is funny to see how much trouble she has getting out of the bed – we hope that lasts! Also, Charlotte is making her babies slide out of the bed and then jump out of the bed….we are in trouble!

PS – Please disregard the Christmas pajamas – what can we say, she still fits in them!
