Happy Birthday Ava

Today Wayne, Charlotte and I helped Ave celebrate her 2nd Birthday!

Ava is a little girl from our Mommy & Me group and she and Charlotte have been playing together since they were only a few months old. Anyway Kristin and Joe hosted the party at Birthday World which is a combination of an indoor carnival/arcade/bounce house. Although Charlotte was a little scared of all the sounds (they really do have a roller coaster indoors) at first, she quickly warmed up. She mostly enjoyed the “car” rides and bounce houses but she did try the teeny tiny carousel (but didn’t want to sit on a horse) video games, and carnival games. This was such a fun party for everyone – all the kids were so excited and just running from event to event. We especially enjoyed watching Charlotte play in the bounce houses. She is just fearless and goes for it – with a huge smile on her face! Thanks so much to Ava, Kristin and Joe for a really fun day.

Happy Birthday Ava!

Charlotte’s Makin’ Dinner

For Christmas, Santa brought Charlotte her very own kitchen. We put the play kitchen in our real kitchen so that Charlotte could cook with us at meal times. That placement has made for some funny moments as well as some neat learning opportunities – for us! For instance, did you know that according to Charlotte all you need to make cornbread is a piece of play sandwich bread, a corn cob and a microwave! Adorable.

Sometimes, like tonight, Charlotte announces that SHE is making dinner. Wayne and I are then instructed to SIT DOWN (on the kitchen floor) and hold various cups, pans and play foods. Charlotte is very serious and tells us what she is doing like we are her students - it is just too cute.

COLOR-N "Morgan Chamber"

Here is a video of Charlotte COLOR-N (aka coloring) with her chalk today. Notice she has it all over the table, her face and her shirt! At the end she starts saying "Morgan Chambers" because we'd just been writing her whole name and practicing saying all three names together.

Wee, Wee, Wee...All The Way Home

Here is what happened when we asked Charlotte to ‘Show us your toes”? Intended to quiz her on her body parts, instead she turns it back on us and goes for the nursery rhyme reference! Cheeky baby! (Oh, yes that IS Wayne falling off the bed at the end – sometimes she just catches you off guard with what she says!)

Bath Time

This is such a funny picture. Here is Charlotte mid bath – with her tongue out!

Please note she has these neat color tablets that let her mix the color of her bath water. Tonight just happened to be BLUE night!
